Stubbs is a collaboration between several experienced restaurateurs who have come together to make this pub, bistro, and oyster and champagne bar combination in the middle of the town. Styled somewhere between a Victorian dining club and a modern gastropub, Stubbs offers a very modern mix of set lunches, bistro classics, gluten free options, children’s favourites and craft beers.

The Doghouse (12 minute drive)
A home for convalescing dogs may not be the most obvious choice for a pub and restaurant business, but the owners of this new micropub just ten minutes out of Ashford town centre have made this a warm and inviting place to enjoy homemade food, and local ale. Not only that, lovers of vinyl records will find themselves in very good company, as there’s an extensive collection to browse and play while you’re there.

The Retreat (17 minute drive)
For hearty pub food that includes your favourite burger but without the meat, The Retreat is part of an animal rescue and sanctuary, offering plenty to do and see, including the work of the rescue projects, and plenty of wildlife and open spaces. Sandwiches, sausages, toasties and cakes, are all 100% vegan, and served alongside local wines and juices.
